Biography

Emilio Ochando was born in Valencia in 1984.

At the age of 9 he began to train as a dancer, at 12 he collaborated with the National Ballet of Spain and at 16 he moved to Madrid where he continued his training as a professional dancer finishing his career at the Royal Professional Conservatory of Madrid. Be part of, as a dance and soloist, in companies such as; Domingo Ortega, Inma Ortega, Malucos Danza, Nuevo Ballet Español (Rojas and Rodríguez), Aida Gómez, Flamenco Vivo, where he covers the entire national and international scene. He also begins to dance in various large tablaos such as El Corral de la Pacheca, La Morería, Las Tablas, among others. In his professional career he began as a choreographer creating 3 years ago his own company. Among his repertoire are shows such as Round Trip, 3DEUNO and recently launched his third work, SIROCO. In addition, in the art of creation he combined these projects together with choreographies performed for new elite companies and recognized as Rafael Aguilar, in addition to the show Oh Cuba, within the Lorca circle in the summers of the Generalife (Granada) and Romeo and Juliet from the EBB company. He is currently immersed in the latest production of the Royal Professional Conservatory of Dance Mariemma where choreography “Without doubt.” At the same time he conducts a workshop and masterclass all over the world and can be found in the United States, Canada, London, Europe and Spain.

Throughout his career he has won national dance and choreography awards, among which are:

4th Classical dance prize in the national dance competition held in Valencia.

2nd Prize of new creators of the city of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid).

2nd Prize for choreography of only the Spanish and flamenco dance contest nationwide held in Madrid.

1st Prize in the international contest of Spanish dance and flamenco city of Almeria.

1st Prize in the dance category in the TALENTMADRID 2016 competition of the theater of the canal (Madrid).

1st Prize for group choreography, Carlota Santana New York choreography prize and María de Ávila Conservatory Superior choreography prize in the Spanish and flamenco dance contest nationwide held in Madrid.

In addition choreographies performed for other artists were also awarded in national competitions: 3 silver, Hermit, Ay de ti and Tango de Siroco. In 2018 he obtained several nominations at the XXII MAX Awards for the Performing Arts, for best male performance and best show revelation by SIROCO.

He is currently immersed in solo projects for national and international companies as a guest artist. He also continues to tour Spain and abroad with his latest 3DEUNO and SIROCO shows at renowned festivals such as the Jerez Festival, Suzanne Dellal Festival, Madrid Flamenco Festival, Red Theaters among others.
